Hostport provides hosting services: web apps deployed from Git repositories, managed databases, and Hostport Identity — hosted sign-in for your applications. Exact features and availability are shown in the portal — what you see there is what exists. Hostport is a young platform: features evolve, and we may add, change, or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you pay for, we give you reasonable notice to migrate.
Terms of service
The agreement for using the Hostport platform — written to be read.
These terms are an agreement between you and Hostport ("Hostport", "we"). By creating an account you accept them. If you use Hostport on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization. You must be at least 18 years old to open an account.
1. The service
2. Your account
Keep your credentials secret and your account secure (we recommend MFA). You are responsible for activity under your account and organization. Tell us promptly at support@hostport.net if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Hostport to: break the law or infringe others’ rights; distribute malware or run phishing, spam, or fraud operations; attack, scan, or disrupt networks or services you do not own; mine cryptocurrency; or resell the platform as your own hosting service without our written agreement. You are responsible for content you deploy and for complying with laws that apply to it — including GDPR when your workloads process personal data. We may suspend resources that put the platform, other customers, or third parties at risk; where reasonable we contact you first.
4. Your content and data
What you deploy and store is yours. You give us only the technical permission needed to host, run, back up, and transmit it in order to provide the service. We look at customer content only when operating the platform requires it, when you ask us to in support, or when the law requires it. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of data you cannot afford to lose — infrastructure backups exist for managed databases as described in the product, but no backup system replaces your own export of critical data.
5. Data processing (GDPR)
For personal data in your workloads — your app content, your database rows, end users in your login pools — you are the controller and Hostport processes it only on your documented instructions (this agreement). We: process such data only to provide the service; keep it confidential; apply the technical and organizational measures described in our security documentation (encryption at rest for secrets, TLS in transit, access controls, audit logging); use only the sub-processors listed on the sub-processor page and update that page before adding new ones; assist you within reason with data-subject requests; and delete or return the data when the agreement ends, unless law requires retention. This section is our data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. For account data where Hostport is controller, see the privacy policy.
6. Fees and payment
Prices are shown before you create a resource — the quote in the wizard uses the same calculation as your invoice. Usage is metered while resources run and summarized on a monthly invoice with VAT per your billing country. Invoices are due by the stated due date; if payment fails or is late we remind you before suspending services, and continued non-payment may lead to termination. Stopping or deleting a resource stops its meters. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice in the portal or by email — changes never apply retroactively.
7. If you are a consumer
If you use Hostport as a private individual you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (lag 2005:59). By deploying resources you request that the service starts immediately; if you withdraw within the period you pay only for usage already metered. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law. Disputes can be referred to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se) — we participate in its proceedings.
8. Availability and warranties
We run the platform with care and aim for high availability, but we are a small provider and do not offer a guaranteed uptime level (SLA) today — we would rather say that plainly than promise one we cannot verify. The service is provided as is to the extent permitted by law. This does not limit statutory rights, including consumer rights.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect damages (such as lost profits, lost data you could have backed up, or business interruption), and our total liability under this agreement is capped at the fees you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing excludes or limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited under applicable law — and for consumers, mandatory law always prevails over this section.
10. Termination
You can stop using Hostport and delete your account at any time — there are no minimum terms or exit fees. We may terminate or suspend for material breach of these terms, abuse, or non-payment, with prior notice where reasonable. On account deletion your resources stop and personal data is erased per the privacy policy, subject to legal retention (e.g. issued invoices under Swedish accounting law). Export what you need before deleting.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we notify you in the portal or by email at least 30 days in advance. If you continue using the service after the change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you do not accept them, delete your account before then.
12. The boring but necessary
Neither party is liable for failure caused by events beyond reasonable control (force majeure). If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies. Swedish law governs this agreement. Disputes are settled by Swedish courts with Stockholm District Court as first instance — consumers may always use the courts and bodies mandatory law gives them.
